I want to share with you a few things about how Dismas House has helped me become the person I was meant to be.  I started using drugs and alcohol when I was 12 years old.  When I was 17 I started down a darker path with my drug usage.  I had my first child by the time I was 15 so I felt like I always needed extra energy just to keep up with work, my son and our household.  

   I was arrested at 26 for drug possession, and unfortunately, my youngest of 3 children was with me.  She was taken into custody by CPS.

   At this moment in my life it seemed like my whole world was crashing in around me; my youngest daughter was in fosters care and my 7 and 11 year olds were at home with their dad.

   I had nothing but time to think about my kids and my life, how I got to where I was and how I could get back to where I needed to be.
